I cannot say enough good things about Orchid Springs Animal Hospital. When I got home this evening my dog was not doing good at all. I called because I noticed that they had late hours and they told me to bring Paco. He needed to have emergency surgery. He is home and doing great now. I will be bringing all 3 of my dogs there from now on. The professionalism is too notch from the time you walk in the door to the time you leave. I will be forever grateful to the doctors and the staff. They explained everything to me every step of the way. Understood my situation and made sure my dog had the best care possible. I would recommend them to anyone.
Tonight we took in our 20yr old cat Charlie for what we thought was our final goodbyes. While sitting in the comfort room waiting for that moment, we sat on the floor talking to our sweet girl, in comes Dr. Hernandez. He introduced himself to us and to Charlie, he examined her, observed her body language and told us in his opinion she was not ready to go and clearly we were not ready to let go. His approach is holistic and he suggested a b12 shot and dextrose along with cans of recovery food for her to give her a chance to bounce back. I could not have asked for a better experience this evening, he showed us that just because she's an old girl doesn't mean she's done yet. Thank you Dr. Hernandez, you're a wonderful veterinarian.
We've been here for almost 14 years. Dr. Vargas is wonderful, knowledgeable, and spends time checking our dogs and explains everything in detail. We had a house fire and she saved my American Bulldogs life. Actually the firemen carried him out and he wasn't breathing for quite a while. A neighbor sat petting him and he started breathing so they gave him oxygen with special cone shaped mask that Orchid Springs donated to the Polk County Fire Department. He was in terrible shape and Dr. Vargas nursed him back to good health. That was 7 years ago and he'll be 14 in a few months. Pretty good for a 100 plus pound dog. We wouldn't think of taking our pets anywhere else.
*Edit: The owner's weak rebuttal only serves to validate my statement. If what I said was untrue, much more effective action could be taken in lieu of such a hollow online refute. Dr. Vargas should refrain from sending any further threatening email as I do not plan to remove my review.
It's unfortunate that such a great practice in regard to its treatment of clients and patients would terminate an employee without notice or reason; that management would openly discuss not meeting payroll with employees as misdirected means to "motivate" them; or that employee nicknames that include profanity would not only be tolerated, but encouraged. Management needs to seriously reconsider their handling of the practice.
We just moved here from VA and we’re looking for a vet, a Groomer and some place where we could board our little guy! He has terrible separation anxiety so we’re very picky where we take him. We saw orchard Springs Animal Hospital online from VA and it is near our new home and had everything! We thought it just couldn’t be that easy! But after our visit with the vet and netting the staff and a tour of the facilities, I️ think it just may be that easy. Everything was clean and everyone was friendly to me and my dog Mugsy! The vet was great! We’re going back real soon for some grooming and daycare so I can get some settling in and needed shopping done. I thought the prices were very reasonable too.
